Monorail Track Lighting
Monorail lighting systems offer unlimited design for both residential and commercial
applications. Because it can be customized on the job site it can fit almost any need. With a
large selection of both pendants and track heads, many different styles and tastes can be
incorporated into the design. The monorail system we are showing on this page is made by
Tech lighting. There are other companies that make monorail systems including WAC and
Pegasus.
One of the real benefits of using a monorail system is it allows the track to follow the
contour of the object being illuminated. With the ease of changing the location of the fixture
on the track, there is also a great degree of flexibility. When a job can be pre-wired for a
monorail system, which is Low Voltage, the transformer can be located in a remote location.
If you want to have it installed where there is already a fixture, don't fret. In the pictures
below the monorail system was chosen after the wiring was already installed for line voltage
pendants. Tech lighting makes a canopy with the transformer inside to allow this kind of
installation.

In the above photos you can see how a unique shape was created for both the island on
the left and a round dining table on the right. The shape and design is only limited by your
imagination. The heights of the pendants is also something that is fabricated on the job site
to accommodate the needs of each situation.

In the above photos you can see on the left the transformer canopy unit. If this job was set
up for the low voltage lighting in advance, we would use a much smaller canopy. In the
picture on the right you can see the design of the monorail itself a little better.
There are so many places that a monorail track lighting system can be used. A long wall
with artwork can be illuminated properly by placing lights exactly where they need to be and
at various heights to accommodate the artwork. Another application in a residential setting is
where there is a vaulted ceiling and the lights need to be brought down to a level plane.
There are many uses in the commercial area as well. Monorail systems make a good
choice in a clothing store environment. As displays change so can the lighting adjust to
accommodate those changes. Monorail systems offer a sleek contemporary look that fits
most retail needs today. Because of the intensity of low voltage bulbs, the color and quality
of retail items is clearly visible to the customer and appealing, resulting in more sales.
