When planning a bathroom, some things to consider in your lighting -
electrical plans are:
An exhaust fan with a light and night light if desired. A heat a vent for a
more comfortable unheated bathroom. Wall sconces to add your own
style. Cove lighting or accent lighting under toe kicks or under platform
tub. Receptacles for convenience. Switches to separately control the
lighting so it can be layered. Heat lamp if desired. One product that

Bath light can be a vanity light fixture, a bath wall sconce, recessed or
ceiling mounted. You could combine either or all of these depending
on the size of the bathroom.

Bathroom lighting at the mirror does need some special consideration.
Placing only overhead lighting over the vanity, will leave shadows on a
face using the mirror. This is particularily annoying for someone shaving
or putting makeup on. Using a wall sconce on either side of the vanity
can help keep the light balanced on the subject.

As far as the style of bath light fixture you choose, it will depend on
your decor. What is important is the placement and try and get a
fixture where the bulb is diffused and does not cause excessive glare.

Another lighting consideration, well kind of lighting, is a heat lamp.
These are really a great addition. On those mornings when it's just a little
cool and you get out of the shower, that heat lamp feels awfully nice.

I know a lot of people feel, it's just a bathroom, why spend money on
lighting in a small room. It may be one of the smaller rooms in the house
but it probably rivals the kitchen for use. So when your planning your
bathroom remodel, give the lighting some real thought. Things like
types of lighting, placement and switching.
